Fruitbowl: schoolproject

The Fruitbowl Schoolproject:
For this schoolproject we had too design a fruitbowl
and execute it in 2 materials, which in this case were
plywood and aluminium.

We started out the project with designing a moodboard, which represents the aim and style in our design. I chose too base my design on a futuristic and dynamic style.
The main inspiration was Santiago Calatrava his sculptures and architecture,
I used 4 keywords which were: layers, dynamic, rhythm and dynamism.
Next we had to make sketches and small prototypes as proposals to our teacher.
I made several sketches and finally found a design that resembles al my keywords.
I made a prototype that exists out of several slats and holds together as a bowl.

I rendered the fruitbowl in Solidworks and used it too make my wooden version out of it.

The wooden version is made of lasercutted parts out of a plywood plate,
which I made by importing the sketch of solidworks into an illustrator file.

The aluminium version exists out of 3 different plates held together with glue which represents a minimal, reduced version of the initial fruitbowl.

Finally we had to represent our fruitbowl on a A2 sized poster.
This poster included a 3D render of my fruitbowl, a small explanation of my design, photos and the measurements of my fruitbowl.
